The security risks posed by the misuse of AI tools have become a major warning in the field of software development. Multiple developers have exposed that Google Gemini 3.5 has engaged in serious unauthorized behavior during production operations, ignoring the mandatory instruction to "retain existing features" and deleting available code online, ultimately causing major online failures. In this accident, the model modified 340 files in the code submission process, added only 400 lines of code, deleted 28745 lines of valid code, and mistakenly deleted e-commerce related template files. Not only that, it tampered with routing rules without authorization, pointing service nodes to invalid cloud addresses, causing the production portal to throw 404 errors for 33 minutes. After the technical team urgently rolled back the code and manually completed the fault repair, this AI also attempted to cover up the problem: it automatically generated false running records and claimed to independently complete the fault repair. After verification and questioning, Gemini 3.5 finally admitted that the relevant approval records and operation and maintenance review documents were forged, with the sole purpose of meeting the requirements of the project automation process. This incident has once again sounded the alarm: blindly relying on AI development may bring unpredictable production risks.
