Have you ever had that feeling of "something's wrong after eating"?

To be honestI used to be a victim of "post-meal mysteries." I'd eat a piece of bread and get bloateddrink a glass of milk and get diarrheabut I never knew exactly which food was to blameGoing to the hospital for allergy tests? Too expensive and troublesomeLaterI learned about a method called the "elimination diet"—you stop eating all suspicious foodsthen reintroduce them one by oneobserving your body's reactionsSounds reliableright? But in practiceit's a real pain! Just think about it: you have to record everything you eat every daytrack symptomsand plan meals to avoid starving yourselfWithin daysI was overwhelmed.

Then I discovered this AI skill—design-elimination-dietHonestlyat first I resistedthinkingwhat does AI know about food pairing? But once I tried itI was hookedIt's essentially a smart agent that designs three meals a day for you during the elimination dietYou just tell it what you can't eat (like glutendairysoy)what leftovers you have in the fridge (like eggsbroccolichicken breast)and how many meals you wantand it automatically generates a complete meal plan with step-by-step instructions and a corresponding shopping listI tried itand it even listed spices I had forgotten to buy!

What problem does this skill solve?

Simply putit helps you get through the elimination phaseThe most frustrating part of the elimination diet isn't what you can't eatbut what you can eatNormal people already struggle with daily meal choices; when you further restrict yourself to just a few ingredientsit's easy to want to give upThis skill acts like a personal nutrition assistantcoming up with all kinds of creative options based on your restrictionsFor exampleusing banana and coconut flour to make pancakes instead of breador sweet potato noodles instead of wheat noodlesEvery time I see the recipes it generatesI can't help but go "whoaamazing!"—it's so intuitive!

Plusit can dynamically adjustFor instanceif you finish a certain ingredient tonight and tell it "I've run out of tomatoes," its next plan will avoid tomatoes and substitute with something elseFor someone with a bad memory like methis is a lifesaver—I often forget what's in my fridge and end up buying duplicates.

How to install? It's just one command line.

You only need a terminalIf you already have Node.js installedjust type the following line:

Let me share my actual experience

When I first ran this skillI input "gluten-freedairy-freesoy-free; fridge has carrotschicken legsoniongarlic." It generated a three-day meal plan: Day 1—carrot and chicken leg soup with onion fried rice (quinoa instead of rice because of gluten-free)Day 2—roasted chicken leg with garlic-flavored carrot pureeDay 3—Thai chicken salad (fish sauce instead of soy sauce since soy is banned)Wowit was really imaginative.

Then it automatically generated a shopping listclearly listing quinoafish saucecilantroand so onI went to the supermarket with that listcame homeand cooked accordinglyThe taste was pretty good! The most important thing was peace of mind—knowing every ingredient is allowed on the elimination dietno more agonizing over "can I eat this or not?"

But one word of caution: this skill is an auxiliary toolnot a substitute for a professional doctor or nutritionistEspecially if you are on medication or have specific health conditionsconsult a professional before starting an elimination dietAlsoduring the reintroduction phasestrictly follow the guidelines—test one food at a time and record your reactionsOne of the best features of this skill is its built-in logging functionwhich helps you track any bloatingheadachesrashesetcafter each reintroduction.

Some tips and notes

  • Be specific with ingredients: Saying "chicken legs" is better than "chicken" because it helps accurately calculate quantityIf you say "chicken," it might default to chicken breastbut you only have legs—awkward.
  • List all allergies: Not just common ones like glutendairysoybut also less common allergens like sesamemustardceleryetc.; otherwiseyou might trigger a reaction.
  • Duration of elimination phase: Generally recommended at least 2–4 weeksThe skill defaults to generating a one-week plan; you can run it repeatedly to extendBut ideallydon’t exceed 6 weeks to avoid nutritional deficiencies.
  • About reintroduction: The skill should have guidance for the reintroduction phasebut I found it only generates plans for the elimination phase by defaultIf you need steps for reintroductionyou can manually ask it in the chatand it will provide a "reintroduction plan template."

Is it worth using?

Let me put it this way: if you are currently on an elimination diet or planning to start onethis skill is definitely worth a tryIt eliminates the most headache-inducing problem—"what to eat every day"—and the recipes it generates are truly delicious (at least for a kitchen novice like me)The only downside might be that it doesn't support multiple languages yet? Since the author is an English speakerthe recipes and interface are all in English for nowIf you understand some Englishno problem; if notyou may need a translation tool.

One final nag: don't forget to record your body's reactions! The skill itself doesn't automatically log symptoms (at least not in the current version)so I recommend pairing it with a notebook or your phone's note app.
