Manufacturing Documentation Writing, Really This Hassle-Free?

Instead, it will look up relevant national standards, academic papers, industry reports, and other primary sources to ensure every piece of data has a citation.
It also has a particularly practical feature—the source verification three-level standard:
- L1 Primary Sources: Official documents, academic papers, raw data—these can be cited directly.
- L2 Secondary Sources: Industry reports, authoritative media—these require noting the source.
- L3 AI's Own Knowledge: For reference only; must be marked as "Based on AI training data, independent verification is recommended."
This way, the generated documents won't end up with content just "randomly copied from the internet." At the very least, every point can be traced back to a source.

The default is full mode (30 minutes of in-depth research), but you can also choose quick (10 minutes of fast verification) or verify (5 minutes to verify just one specific fact).
I generally use full mode for documents in new fields and quick mode for ones I'm familiar with. It's very efficient.
A Few Tips I Want to Share
After using it for a while, I've summed up a few key points:
- Be Clear About Your Needs: State the topic, audience, word count, and style upfront, and the output will be much more relevant. For example, "Aimed at frontline operators, needs to be easy to understand" versus "Aimed at engineers, use professional terminology" will result in completely different document styles.
- Don't Forget to Check Sources: Although it automatically labels sources, it's best to double-check some critical data (like temperature ranges, pressure parameters) yourself, especially for content involving safety.
- Choosing the Right Mode is Important: If you're short on time, go with quick mode. Don't force yourself into full mode; waiting 30 minutes for it to search slowly can be a real test of patience, haha.
My Real-Life Experience
Last week, I needed to write an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for the daily maintenance of CNC machining centers. I used quick mode and gave it my requirements: it should include equipment inspection, lubrication, cleaning, and safety precautions, with a word count of around 1,500 words.
It took about 5 minutes to complete the research and then started writing. The outline it generated was: Equipment Overview, Daily Maintenance Items, Weekly Maintenance Items, Monthly Maintenance Items, and Safety Precautions. The content was very detailed, even specifying which type of lubricating oil should be used for each lubrication point, and it included the reference sources. All I had to do was tweak the wording slightly to match our factory's specific terminology, and it was done.
In the past, this kind of document would have taken me at least a full day to look through manuals and ask the veteran workers. Now, it's done in half an hour. Isn't the time I save just perfect for some well-deserved slack time? 😄
