Fellow E-commerce Sellers, Are You Also Driven Crazy by Product Photos?
To be honest, back when I ran my online store, the thing I hated most was taking product photos. Every time I launched new items—dozens of styles at once—I had to shoot each one individually, cut them out, composite them, and I was exhausted like a dog. Especially for things like T-shirts and hoodies, you need to find a model, find a location, and then do post-production editing. The whole process couldn't be done in less than three to five days. And the results weren't even guaranteed to look good. Sometimes the lighting was off, sometimes the angle was wrong—there was always something unsatisfying.
Later, a friend recommended a tool called Dynamic Mockups to me. I gave it a try and found it pretty useful, so today I'm here to chat with you all about this magical tool.

My Favorite Features
After using it for a few days, I found that several features are really amazing and deserve special mention.
First is the batch generation feature. Previously, making one product image took me half an hour. Now with this tool, I can upload dozens of designs at once and batch generate all the product images. Last time I made a batch of T-shirt designs—30 styles total—and with this tool, it was done in just a few minutes. The efficiency just skyrocketed. Plus, the generated images are super high quality, and you can't even tell they're composites.
Next is the custom Photoshop template feature. This is super friendly for someone like me who knows how to use PS. You can upload your own PSD templates, and the tool will automatically identify the layers and place your design in the corresponding positions. This way, I can customize exclusive templates based on my brand style, and the results are completely different—no risk of having the same images as others.
There's also an AI background feature that's pretty interesting. You can use AI to generate various unique backgrounds, like beaches, forests, city night scenes, and so on, then composite your product images onto them. This is especially great for creating lifestyle-style display images. They look very high-end, but you don't actually need to go to those places to shoot.
The Lookbook Feature Is Also a Highlight
Oh right, it also supports a Lookbook feature that can quickly generate those product collection display pages. Just like a magazine, it puts multiple products together for display—perfect for sending to clients or putting on your store's homepage. Last time I was working on a proposal for a client, I used this feature to create a Lookbook. The client saw it and said it looked so professional, and they placed an order on the spot, haha.
How to Use It? Actually, It's Really Simple
It's quite easy to use. Let me briefly walk you through the process:
- Step 1: Register an account and choose a template you like
- Step 2: Upload your design, or use the platform's built-in design tool for some simple editing
- Step 3: Adjust the position, size, and angle to make it look more natural
- Step 4: Click generate and wait a few seconds to see the mockup
- Step 5: Download the high-resolution image and upload it directly to your store
If you have a store on Shopify or Etsy, it also has API and integration features that can connect directly to your store. When you upload a product, it automatically generates the mockup, saving you even the manual work. Though I haven't tried this integration feature myself because my store isn't on those platforms, I've heard it's very convenient.
Who Is This Suitable For?
I think this tool is most suitable for the following types of people:
- Print-on-Demand sellers – This is the most fitting use case. For sellers on platforms like Printful or Printify, this tool is a perfect match
- E-commerce store operators – Whether you're selling clothes or home goods, you need a large number of product images, and this tool can save you a lot of time
- Design studios – When presenting proposals to clients, using this tool to quickly generate mockups is much better than just sending dry design files
- Independent site sellers – If you have your own standalone website and need to regularly update product display images, this tool helps you keep your content fresh
Let's Talk About Some Minor Downsides
Of course, this tool isn't perfect. I think its free version is quite limited, and many of the good templates and features require payment. Also, if you want to use custom PS templates, you need to have some understanding of PS first; otherwise, you might not know how to operate it. Another thing is that although the generated images are very realistic, occasionally some details aren't perfect, like shadows or edge processing. But overall, it's already pretty good.
Additionally, although it has a large number of templates, if you need a particularly niche product type, you might not find a suitable one. For example, I was once looking for a specific style of hat template, searched around but couldn't find it, and ended up having to make it myself in PS. So if you're selling particularly obscure products, you might need to check in advance whether there's a corresponding template.
Final Thoughts
